My spa medical therapist does not recommend this unless the patient has reactive hypoglycemia, for example, due to abnormally high insulin secretion after a starchy/sugar meal. It is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes. The need for such meal-responsive insulin is reduced by regular intake of e.g., chromium Poly nicotinate (or GTF) in doses established by a competent therapist. However, although other studies have shown beneficial effects, this use is not yet fully supported by common practice. recovers with diet and lifestyle changes.
