yes. I was diagnosed 5 years before her, refused medication, lost a lot of weight (68 lbs) and went into remission but not back. My medical records say I'm a diet-restrictive diabetic, and tests have shown that if I don't stick to a low-carb diet, my blood sugar gets too high and I don't feel good.Read more
yes. I was diagnosed 5 years before her, refused medication, lost a lot of weight (68 lbs) and went into remission but not back. My medical records say I’m a diet-restrictive diabetic, and tests have shown that if I don’t stick to a low-carb diet, my blood sugar gets too high and I don’t feel good. If you are diabetic, I had to take several courses last year on steroids that really mess with your blood sugar. The aim is to stay in remission as long as possible, but I am permanently diabetic so I always have regular NHS checks, HBA1C, eye retinopathy and neuropathy.
